I’m Kati Troeva, a digital marketing specialist with expertise in SEO, GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), and AIO (AI Optimization). I also happen to love hiking and exploring — which is why I started RankTrails: to guide travel bloggers and creators along the path to being found online.
This blog is where travel meets search visibility.

Why RankTrails?
Because growing a travel blog can feel like wandering without a map. When I launched my first site, Happiness Is My Direction, I quickly learned something important: not every blog is built for SEO — and that’s okay.
That blog was created for fun and personal storytelling, not for organic traffic. A diary-style post about a weekend trip may never bring in thousands of readers — and it doesn’t need to. But if your goal is to reach people organically, build authority, or even earn through your content, then SEO, GEO, and AIO can make all the difference.
It’s also worth knowing that not all travel topics are treated the same in search. Posts that touch on sensitive areas like safety advice, travel insurance, or medical tips for high-altitude trekking fall under stricter Google standards (EEAT: Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness). To rank for these, you need to show strong credibility.
That’s where RankTrails comes in: to give travel creators practical, beginner-friendly guidance on how to grow their visibility — without jargon or overcomplication.
Why the name?
The name RankTrails comes from two places.
My Instagram account, kat.trailmarks, where I share the real trails I hike and the moments I capture.
The idea that growing online is like following a trail — sometimes steep, sometimes winding, but always leading to new views (and in this case, more visibility).

What you’ll find here
This space is not about jargon or theory. It’s about practical, beginner-friendly guides that show you how to:
- Find the right keywords for your travel niche.
- Optimize blog posts so they show up in search and AI-driven results.
- Build visibility across platforms — including social media like Instagram.
I’m starting with a small collection of guides, but over time, this blog will grow into a full trail map for travel creators who want to reach farther. Along the way, I’ll also share mini case studies from my own projects (like testing keyword prompts for hiking guides or experimenting with Instagram growth).
Because SEO, GEO, and AIO don’t have to be complicated. They just need to be explained in a way that works for travelers like us.
So whether you’re writing about mountain trails, city escapes, or cultural adventures — consider this your guide to leaving a digital trail that others can follow.
